Manitoba Agriculture has released its Seed Manitoba Guide for 2017.

The guide includes most crops that are grown in the province, showing the differences in variety performance.

Guide Editor Anastasia Kubinec explains how the guide can benefit producers.

"It's really an excellent resource. You can look at disease tolerance, lodging, yield, maturity, height, all those attributes that farmers really want to know when they're picking maybe a new variety or they've had their old 'tried and true' and they're looking to maybe switch things up next year to try something different. They can do a great comparison, right in the seed guide."

The Seed Manitoba Guide will be mailed out to producers in the coming days.

Producers can also pick up a copy at their local Manitoba Agriculture office or at many seed retailers across the province.

A digital copy of the guide can also be viewed online at www.seedmb.ca
