The Crow Wing Trail is 191 km long and is the largest part of the Trans Canada Trail. The trail acts as a connection between the municipality of Emerson-Franklin to Emerson. Originally the trail was used back on the 1800s to transport goods to and from the Red River Settlement on the Red River and Crow Wing Settlement on the Mississippi River.

The second test voyage was held earlier this month carrying eighteen passengers in horse-drawn wagons 59 km from Emerson to St. Malo, including members of tourism Manitoba. Vice President of The Crow Wing Trail and the guide for the voyage Wayne Arseny told News Reporter Rochelle Rawdon the purpose behind it all.
