Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation Executive Director Shannon Samatte-Folkett and board member Brent Menzies joined the morning show on the first day of Smile Cookie Week at Tim Horton's in Morden and Winkler.

This is the first year the BTHC Foundation is involved with Smile Cookie Week, Samatte-Folkett says she's excited for the community to get involved, "if you're just driving through with your car, you might get a couple or you'll pick up a dozen or two for work, pay it forward, drop it off to another business. It's just a really great opportunity to spread smiles. "

Smile Cookies are available at Tim Horton's in Morden and Winkler until Sunday, May 5th. When you stop by, you may see some festivities happening during your morning coffee run, Samatte-Folkett says there will be volunteers there throughout the week, "they'll be there with their Smile Cookie shirts on decorating cookies. Live on location on Wednesday in Morden and in Winkler, we will have the CEO of Southern Health Sante-Sud there, Jane Curtis, we’ll have MLA Carrie Heibert in Winkler. We're really excited about this, and we look forward to interacting with the public."

Menzies is the co-owner of Morden Massage Therapy Centre, he issued a challenge to the community, "I'm putting a challenge out to the businesses in the Pembina Valley. We have 10 employees and I'm putting up $50 per employee, $500, to go towards the Smile Cookie Campaign and I'm challenging other businesses to meet or beat our amount that we're going to pledge towards the smile Cookie campaign."
