The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not stop in Manitoba, but a former Carman resident has been involved in hosting the Royal couple. Lee Funke, Managing Director of the Bureau for Public Affairs for the Province of Alberta, says he is used to working with the Premier, but when it comes to the Royals it goes to a whole new level.

Funke explains they've been busy working with royal officials, RCMP, and the Department of National Defence.

He tells us he has been impressed by the young couple, especially during their visit with residents in Slave Lake. He shares why he thinks so many Canadians have fallen in love with them.

Funke notes this experience will remain with him forever.

He says they have been thrilled to host Prince William and Kate on their last stop in Canada, and he hopes long after they leave they remember the beauty of our entire country and our people.
