Over the weekend the community of Altona welcomed a team of 14 and 15 year old Cuban baseball players as part of the Canada-Cuba goodwill Tour. The players all hailed from the Matanzas area, and were led by Team Leader Yosel Vazquez who acted as their interpreter.

Two of the players, Jose Delgado and Derek Ojeda stopped by our studio to chat with us.

With Yosel acting as their interpreter, I asked Jose and Derek about what they thought of Canada during their first few days here.

We also asked them how excited they were to be in Canada playing baseball and representing their country of Cuba.

Head Coach Antonio Puente led the team of boys on the field, and we asked him what he thought of Canada.

Organizers would like to thank the community for its gracious support and donations that allowed the Cuban team to make the trip to Altona.
