We are pleased to announce that the Curtis Klassen Memorial Fund has donated $1,500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters to help expand the existing BBBS Morden/Winkler program into Altona. Funds will be used to hire a part-time local coordinator and to promote the Big Brothers Big Sisters program throughout the community.

The Curtis Klassen Memorial Fund was launched in 2008 by the friends of Curtis Klassen who was tragically killed in 1990. The funds raised through the CKMF – 5k/10k Run/Walk to Remember each spring are distributed through three categories: 1) Education 2) Minor Sport, and 3) Community Building.

CKMF volunteer Chad Friesen said "We feel the work of Big Brothers Big Sisters reflects the spirit of what we’re trying to accomplish with CKMF by supporting young people in their development through sport, education, and mentorship. We’re pleased to help bring the program to Altona and look forward to seeing local youth receive the additional care and support that the program offers"
