The Winkler Diamond Dogs will represent Manitoba at the 2016 Western Canada Pee Wee "AA" Baseball Championship.

The Diamond Dogs went undefeated this past weekend in capturing the Provincial championship banner in Steinbach.

Winkler defeated Souris 13-0 and downed Charleswood 16-6 on Friday.

The Diamond Dogs blanked Swan River 19-0 and beat Blumenort 21-6 on Saturday to finish the round robin at 4-0.

On Sunday Winkler rallied for a 9-8 victory in eight innings over Portage in the semifinals and defeated Gateway 18-8 in the championship game.

The Western Canada Pee Wee "AA" Baseball Championship will take place from August 19th-21st in St. Albert, Alberta.



Diamond Dogs coach Jeremy Matuszewski says it was a special ball team that won the Provincial title Sunday in Steinbach.
