The first German settlers of Winkler will soon have their own cairn.

Abe Suderman, chairman of Road of Rememberance has been working on the project for almost two years.

He says getting the names together was only the beginning, then they began searching for all the decendants.

In total they have about 95 names to be put on the plaque.

Suderman says the location of the cairn is tentative until the library is finished and they know what will take place of the old hospital.

Fred Penner will be at the unveiling  and Suderman encourages everyone to bring lawn chairs.
