The goals against average is 2.69.

The save percentage is 0.909.

The most important statistic though is five.

That's the number of wins Cole Kehler has this season which includes a 7-6 victory over the reigning Western Hockey League champion Brandon Wheat Kings on Tuesday night at Westman Place.

"It was fun," said the Portland Winterhawks goaltender who stopped 40 of 46 shots. "We got down quick but we battled back hard. We really regrouped well and scoring four goals in the second period - that helps any team at anytime of the season. I was really pleased with our performance and our work ethic tonight. We never quit and that helped us a lot I think."

The 18-year-old Altona product was acquired by Portland from the Kamloops Blazers this past off-season and is fitting right in with the U.S. Division leading Winterhawks.

"It's been a great transition. Obviously I'm getting an opportunity to play here so that makes things a lot more fun. It's been great so far. I just want to play well and try and succeed as far as I can in hockey this season."

Kevin & Keri Kehler would have to drive 2,386.3 kilometers to watch their son play home games in Portland.

At 258 kilometers - a trip from Altona to Brandon is way more manageable.

"It's fun to come out back east and play close to home and have mom and dad near by," said Kehler. "It's never a bad thing to come back here. I was definitely playing for them tonight. It was my little nephew's first hockey game so it was a good one."

As for beating the defending champs.

"It feels good," replied Kehler. "It feels really good. It's never a bad thing to beat the best."
