Motorists travelling into Morris from the south on Highway 75 are being greeted by a new welcome sign.

Mayor Gavin van der Linde says the new sign is part of the town's rebranding project, which started about five years ago.

“We put some money away for a few years and and I'm very, very happy with the result,” he said. “I think the sign came out better than I expected and really looks great as you come into town.”

The cost of the sign was about $30,000.

Van der Linde says the town is planning on finishing off the new sign by planting self-watering flowers that are similar to the ones currently on Main Street.

He adds the sign on the north end of town will also be replaced in about two or three years.

The old signs will be moved to the east and west sides of town.
