A young Morden resident had his faith in humanity restored recently after his bike was stolen.

Alex Kanski explains his six-year-old son's bike was taken while they were shopping in Morden over the weekend.

"We were in the store maybe five minutes and when we came out his bike was gone," Kanski explains. "He had a rough evening, he was not happy at all that someone would take his Spiderman bike."

When they inquired with the store owner on whether they could see anything on their security cameras, local owner James Steedsman of Giant Tiger was upset to hear the news. He would later connect with the Morden Thrift Store and find that they had a similar bike in stock and offered to get the bike into the Kanski's hands.

"He was very happy," Kanski says. "It was great that James went the extra mile, as well as Neil Unrau at the Morden Thrift Shop."

During the COVID-19 situation, he says it was a pivotal moment for his son to see the warmth of their community.

"There's definitely good people out there, it was a story that ended well."
