It is the culmination of years of hard work, training, dedication and perseverance. Nicki Chartrand, a former Altona resident who now lives in Alberta, has finally won her pro card in female bodybuilding. Nicki received the her professional card after number one overall in the female division at the 2016 Canadian Body Building Federation (CBBF) Nationals.

Chris caught up with Nicki to talk about the great news, and what it took to get there.

Chartrand, who after eleven years of competing as an amateur female body-builder, finally won her professional card in late July. The pro card allows Nicki to compete in any International Federation of Body Building sanctioned event, with her sights set on a show in Toronto in June of next year.

And with that first pro event now on the calendar, what will her training regimen look like?

And speaking of that diet plan, what does a professional body builder need to eat? Chris wondered the same thing.

Congratulations Nicki, and best of luck preparing for your first professional competition!
