Anyone who has ever spent a rain-filled weekend camping, or had a surprise thunderstorm pop up on them while hiking, understands how important accurate forecasts are.

A Rocha Pembina Valley Interpretive Centre summer student Amilia Fehr is hoping her new publication A Hiker’s Guide to Weather in the Pembina Valley will help outdoors enthusiasts better predict what's to come weather-wise as they are enjoying the miles of trails within Pembina Valley Provincial Park.

But before we get into how the guide includes weather basics, and a guide to basic forecasting, how did the born and raised Morden resident end up at the Centre this summer and decide on creating the guide?

A Hiker’s Guide to Weather in the Pembina Valley is available to anyone who stops by the Centre prior to hitting the trails. Best of luck Amilia in your pursuit of your aviation dreams, and thank you for letting CMOS Accredited Weathercaster Chris Sumner be part of the vetting process of the guide.
