A 300 km fundraising cycling tour, The One Million Revolution, helped raise over $60,000 for Children's Camps International (CCI).

Together 19 local cyclists rode from Jasper to Banf in support of the children's camping ministry.

Rider Matthew Klassen explains they spent four days biking, and says the scenery was a highlight.

"You can always just stop and look around and be in awe, and forget about how tired your legs are," he says.

CCI VP of Operations Mark Bergen explains the money raised will go towards building a Training Centre in India to further develop their camp staff overseas. This year alone the local charity has trained over 11,000 youth in countries across the world to lead camps in their own communities. Together CCI camps have reached over 200,000 campers.

"It's going to do lots for the country," he says. "A lot of camp directors are going to get trained, and hopefully the gospel is going to just keep moving there and reach many more people there."

Bergen explains the inaugural event last year helped raise $9,000 with six riders.

While three of the riders had pledged to bike back from Banff to Winkler if the project raised $150,000, they hope on reaching the goal next year.
