Thursday was Burgers to Beat MS Day at A&W in Winkler. A dollar from every Teen Burger sold will go towards fighting MS through the MS Society of Canada.

Winkler A&W Owner Steve Hollins explains the disease is prevalent in Canada, and especially in Southern Manitoba, making it an important cause for local residents.

"Everybody in Southern Manitoba is either related to or knows somebody with MS," Hollins says. "It's a personal issue in our area."

Along with hundreds of Teen Burgers sold, many have come in with donations.

"We've had little kids walk in with bags of coins, we've had a person come in with a $250 cheque," Hollins says. "People coming in buying lots of Teen Burgers... the businesses and individuals in this area have all rallied to the cause."

"I'm very proud to be a part of that fight," he says.
