The Morden Police Service is reminding motorists to slow down and be extra cautious around school buses.  Police Chief Brad Neduzak said in the last week they've had several complaints of vehicles passing by a bus when prohibited.

"We're having vehicles drive right by when the lights are activated and the stops signs are out, which is extremely dangerous because there could be students crossing in front of the bus and crossing the street."  Neduzak asks drivers to pay more attention to that and ensure they stop and wait until the lights are deactivated.

By law Neduzak said drivers must stop as soon as the emergency lights are activated, and vehicles must wait until all lights are deactivated.  He added not only will disregarding the rules around bus safety get you a heavy penalty of $673.65 and demerits, it puts passengers at risk of serious injuries.

Neduzak encourages people to give enough time to get to your destination while at the same time adhering to all rules of the road.

Meanwhile, the following is the Morden Police Service report for the period of October 24th to October 31, as submitted by the department.
