October 31st, 2016

Police received a report of a hit and run accident that occurred on October 15th around 11:30 am in the parking lot of Dairy Queen in Morden. The owner parked his vehicle beside a white half- ton truck in the lot and when they went to leave, they noticed damage to the passenger’s side rear door of their vehicle.  The vehicle that was damaged is a 2015 black Ford Taurus. November 2nd, 2016

Police have two Warrants for Arrest for 24-year-old David James Hills of no fixed address.  Hills was required to appear in Queen’s Bench Court, Portage La Prairie, for trial October 31st on charges of Possession of a Controlled Drug for the Purpose of Trafficking, Trafficking a Controlled Drug and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking, but failed to do so.  As a result, two Warrants for Arrest were issued by the courts.  Anyone with information regarding Hills’ whereabouts is asked to call the Morden Police Service at 822-4900, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).


November 3rd, 2016

Police are investigating a break in to a residence in Morden that occurred sometime over the past weekend.  There were no physical signs of a break in as a key may have been used.  Several items were removed from the home including a PS4, a headset, controller, chargers, 7 assorted games, a laptop, some clothing, and a chequebook.  Police are continuing their investigation.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Morden Police Service at 822-4900, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

November 3rd, 2016

While on general patrol, police came across a motor vehicle accident on Thornhill Street at 1st Street in Morden.  A vehicle was stopped facing east on Thornhill Street indicating a turn north onto 1st Street.  A second vehicle was travelling west bound with a green light and passing through the intersection when the first vehicle made their turn, colliding with the other vehicle.  One of the drivers received minor injuries but refused medical attention.  Both vehicles required towing from the scene.  

November 3rd, 2016

A semi tractor and trailer making a northbound turn onto Mountain Street from Thornhill Street came in contact with the traffic light standard.  There were no injuries and no traffic disruptions as a result of the incident.  Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation was contacted to repair the damaged light standard.

November 4th, 2016

Police received a report of a hit and run accident that occurred on November 2nd around 10:30 am in the parking lot of the Agassiz Medical Centre in Morden. The owner returned to their 2003 orange Honda Element to find damage to the driver’s side rear panel.
