A 37-year-old female from Morden is facing charges of Uttering Threats and False messages.  At around 2:30 pm, the accused phoned a business in Morden and told one of the employees they were making a bomb and then hung up.  A short time later, the female made a second call and again advised they were making a bomb and hung up.  The caller appeared to be attempting to disguise their voice using an accent.  Morden Police Service then received a call from an individual who stated that police needed to get everyone out of the business because they were going to bomb the store.  Police recognized the caller’s voice and confirmed it with the number that appeared on the call display.  The accused was located at her residence and subsequently arrested for uttering threats.  She was transported to the Morden Police Service where she was allowed to speak with a lawyer in private.  Shortly after the call, the lawyer contacted Morden Police and advised he was obligated to disclose that the accused told him that if released from police custody, she was going to make a bomb and plant it in the store.  As a result, the accused was held in police custody overnight and taken directly to Morden Provincial Court for a bail hearing.  She was released before a Judge on a Recognizance with several conditions and will be making her next court appearance in Morden on November 8th.  This is the second incident where the accused has been charged for uttering threats of a bomb related to this same business.

Police were called to a motor vehicle accident around 3:55 pm at the corner of Wardrop & 6th Street in Morden involving a school bus.  The bus was travelling east bound on Wardrop Street approaching 6th Street.  A vehicle was stopped on 6th Street facing north waiting to turn east onto Wardrop Street.  The driver failed to see the bus and entered the intersection, coming in contacted with the buses front tire.  There were students on the bus at the time but no injuries as a result of the accident.

Police received a call at 9:40 am of a single vehicle accident on Rampton Street.  The caller advised she was working in her yard when she heard a crash and noticed a girl get out of a grey vehicle.   Police attended and observed a Pontiac Sunfire on the grass boulevard up against a tree with significant front-end damage and the airbags deployed.  Police spoke with the driver who was not injured and could not offer any reasonable explanation for the accident.  The 17-year-old driver was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Drive Imprudently.

A hit and run accident was reported that occurred on October 5th around 4:00 pm in the parking lot of Computer Remedies in Morden. Police are investigating a historical sexual assault that took place approximately 27 years ago in Morden.  The victim was around 13 years old at the time and the suspect is known to her.  The investigation continues with several witnesses to be interviewed.

A 27-year-old female was arrested by Morden Police Service on a Warrant held by the Carman RCMP Detachment.  The woman was wanted in connection with several charges of breaching a Probation Order including failing to report, failing to notify change of address and fail to complete community service work.  She was released on a Promise to Appear in Morden Provincial Court in November.

Police have charged a 44-year-old male from Winkler under the Petty Trespass Act for attending an ex-spouse’s residence without permission.  The male attended his ex-wife’s property without her being home and removed several items that apparently belonged to him.  Police have had previous dealings with this individual and have warned him not to attend the property without permission.
