The 2016 Manitoba Sunflower Festival Queen was crowned in Altona Saturday night. Tiana Reimer received the crown from 2015 Queen Madelynn Harder.

"I am unbelievably blessed to be put in this position," explained Reimer when sharing her reaction.  "I am so pumped, and I am so excited to serve our community as the queen."

Reimer described what was going through her mind as she heard her name announced.

"I was like 'this is not real'.  They called another name and I am thinking weird.  This can't be true, this can't be happening to me, it's too good."

Reimer said her biggest challenge was giving her speech.

The 2016 Manitoba Sunflower Festival Queen shared here favorite part of this year's pageant.

"Getting to know everybody, getting to know people with different backgrounds, and it was super fun to find ways to get involved in the community too."

She added the pageant has shown her it's important to be confident and proud of who you are.

Reimer gave this advice for any girls wanting to enter the pageant in 2017.

Angela Froese was named 1st Princess and also received Miss People's Choice, with Azhami Male selected as this year's 2nd princess. Kaitlin Hildebrand was named Miss Congeniality.
