Winkler McDonald's has undergone renovations and upgrades to help better serve its patrons.

"The dual lane drive-thru came back in September of last year. It's been fantastic for us and has been very well received. Back in November we were closed inside for a month to do a complete remodel and renovation of the restaurant," said Owner Scott Robertson. "We introduced our new bakery items as well. It's just opening up our menu to what our customers would like to see on our menu."

In addition to the renovations and remodelling, Robertson noted McDonald's has introduced a self serve option, and the Winkler location was one of roughly twenty-nine Manitoba locations and one of approximately 1,100 stores in Canada, to receive these kiosks. Robertson stated the pair of self-serve kiosks, which serves up to four people or groups at once, has one of the newest menu items to McDonald's, 'Create Your Taste'.

"This is revolutionizing our industry for sure. 'Create Your Taste' is a chance for you as our guest to customize your own burger, anyway you like it. It's just a different way of doing it. Our guest experience leader, Maggie here who is another game changer for us as well, because it's elevating the guest experience inside. It's changing the way we do business, that we've done for so long. We are listening to our customers' needs. They say we like to come and like table service and that's what you are going to experience here."

According to Robertson you are still able to get your normal Big Mac's or Quarter Pounders with cheese, but this will provide you the opportunity to personalize a burger. He noted as you customize your gourmet burger, McDonald's has added a number of new options for you to try, experience and enjoy.

These Kiosks were originally installed earlier in the year, and Robertson stated response towards them has been great so far.

"It's very easy. If you don't want onions, don't pick onions on your burgers. If you want extra patties, add as many as you like... It's very great and people are saying, 'oh this is so cool, or I didn't know you had this'. It's been very good that way as well," said Robertson.
