Barb Dyck has been named Winkler's new City Manager.

Dyck had been filling the role since April on an interim basis, as well as fulfilling her duties as Financial Officer.

Winkler Mayor Martin Harder explains Council was in favour of Dyck taking on the role permanently looking at her track record and the relationships she has with the community and City employees. With a number of key City positions now filled, including the Director of Planning and Engineering, Harder says they are feeling like a strong team.

"It certainly has become fairly comfortable over the last couple of months," Harder says. "This was a time we simply felt we'd make this official... and we're glad she's willing to take that job."

Harder explains Dyck continues to push forward major projects like the new waste water management system, as well as the multi-use recreation complex and the development of the Cougar Creek Industrial Park, East of Eastview drive.

The search now begins for a Financial Officer.
