Canada has a new federal agriculture minister.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shuffled his cabinet this Friday morning, moving PEI MP Lawrence MacAulay to Veterans-Affairs Minister, filling the void left by Jody Wilson-Raybould.

Trudeau appointed Quebec MP Marie-Claude Bibeau as Canada's first female agriculture minister.

Bibeau was previously the Minister for International Development and was elected as the Member of Parliament for Compton-Stanstead in October of 2015.

MacAulay has been an MP for 30 years and had served as ag minister since 2015.
