Today marks the start of Canadian Western Agribition in Regina.

Agribition is known as the premier livestock event in North America and will showcase about 2000 head of livestock.

CEO Chris Lane says the annual show is expected to attract about 1000 International Visitors and over 130 thousand people.

Lane says, as a result, the show is a key economic boost for the City of Regina and the Province itself.

“We did an economic impact study after the last show. It showed $70 million dollars in economic impact for the Province and about $50 million right here in Regina. We’re at capacity or very close to capacity when it comes to hotel rooms in the city, restaurants are full and shopping malls see an uptick in business. You know, I think it moves the needle in terms of energy and vibrancy in the city.”

Canadian Western Agribition features a full trade show with everything from jewelry to kitchen accessories, clothing, anything and everything you need around the acreage to a machinery show.

There’s key information in the conference events, educational activities for the kids, a rodeo, plus a wide variety of entertainment and the best of the best when it comes to top quality livestock genetics.

Canadian Western Agribition runs today through November 24th at Regina's Evraz Place.
