A family from Niverville has been named as the 2019 Farm Family of the Year by the Red River Exhibition Association (RREA).

Grant and Colleen Dyck own and operate Artel Farms, in addition to Artel Inland, a successful grain drying, handling and storage operation.

"The purpose of this annual award is to profile the diversity of agriculture in Manitoba, as well as the traditional values of farm families, like Grant and Colleen, who have contributed to the success and resilience of prairie agriculture and the rural way of life,” said Garth Rogerson, CEO of the RREA.

The pair are also involved with T-Rex Ditcher, which is a high speed rotary ditching tool invented, developed and manufactured locally with two partners.

In addition, Colleen is the creator of GORP Clean Energy Bars and the family is a big supporter of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

Grant and Colleen will be officially acknowledged at a reception to be held June 17th in Winnipeg.
