Manitoba Pork says there has been three new PED cases confirmed since September 8th, bringing the total to 76 in this current outbreak.

The latest discoveries are finisher sites, which appears to be a recurrence of shedding from animals which were moved to these sites.

On a positive note, 36 previously infected premises have achieved PED transitional status, meaning that all the animals on the site are no longer clinically sick. On sow farms, it also means that the site is able to wean PED negative piglets.

Manitoba Pork is reminding producers to remain vigilant about biosecurity.
