The Royal Manitoba Winter Fair in Brandon has wrapped up for another year.

Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba General Manager Ron Kristjansson said the 110th edition had strong attendance, with about 112,000 visits counted over the six-day event.

He said it was great to see the province's young cattle producers get involved.

"We had a huge number of young people exhibiting cattle. We saw great growth in that piece of our show. We had over 60 exhibitors and almost 100 head of cattle here this year at the Winter Fair."

The highlight of the event for Kristjansson was the Lord Strathcona’s Mounted Troop, which showcased precision riding drills.

He notes they also had a number of dignitaries in attendance at the fair, including Manitoba Agriculture Minister Ralph Eichler and a number of MLA's from the region.

Next up for the Provincial Ex will be the Manitoba Summer Fair, which takes place in June.
