Manitoba Agriculture has confirmed that a second case of the Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus has been found in a finisher hog operation in south central Manitoba.

The case was confirmed on July 14th, the same day another case was confirmed in the Altona area.

Manitoba Pork General Manager Andrew Dickson confirmed that the second case was found in the Lowe Farm area.

He said the pigs tested negative when moved from southeast Manitoba, but were later confirmed positive.

Fifty-eight of the 60 cases discovered this year have been in the southeast.
