Aaron Klassen has been tapped to fill the Vice-Principal job at Shevchenko School, starting in September.

According to a statement provided by the Border Land School Division, Klassen began his teaching career in 1999 as a classroom teacher in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba and in 2001, began teaching at Shevchenko School in Vita. Over the years, Klassen has taught English Language Arts, Social Studies, Drama and Information Technology. In addition, he has been a part of the divisional Literacy with the ICT committee, has been a PowerSchool mentor, and has supported divisional staff in the divisional shift to Office 365.

The statement added, that Klassen values being a lifelong learner and in 2020 he obtained his Master of Education Degree, with a focus on Education Administration from Brandon University. 

A calm presence, strong work ethic and dedication to building relationships with the Shevchenko students and with the broader school community are all traits Klassen brings to the job, added the Division, noting he believes in empowering all staff to be leaders and in the effectiveness of leading alongside staff. 

"Aaron is excited to become a member of the Shevchenko School Admin Team and to collaborate with school staff to work towards the goals that have been set for Shevchenko School."
