A proposal to build a bio-diesel plant in the Red River Valley is still very much alive.

A feasibility study initiated by the Sunbelt Development Group is almost complete.

Sunbelt members will meet late next month to determine some of the specifics of the proposal such as financing and strategic alliances.

General Manager Jim Spencer says he's not too concerned about a  recent announcement of a $60,000,000 plant in Southeast Manitoba.

He says they want to be sure that a proposed plant located somewhere in the R.M. of Rhineland is going to work.

Spencer says if their study indicates a bio-diesel plant is feasible, they would then need to move to the next step in developing a business plan.
