At approximately 9:30 a.m. the Carman-Dufferin Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle accident involving two semi trucks and a pickup.

Upon arrival, firefighters found it was only one semi truck and the pickup.

The driver of the pickup was coming off a gravel road and attempted to stop, but the vehicle slid through the intersection and collided with a northbound semi. The vehicle hit the semi twice before coming to a complete stop. The lone occupant of the vehicle was evaluated by EMS, and released.

As a result, Highway #13 north of Carman was closed to allow firefighters to remove debris. Due to the closure, traffic had backed up almost 3/4 of a mile in each direction.
