G3 has donated grain rescue equipment to a number of rural fire departments in Manitoba.

The donation is part of G3’s ongoing support of the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) BeGrainSafe program, which raises awareness of the risks of grain entrapment and provides rescue training to local first responders. G3 provided $45,000 to CASA for grain rescue training and equipment in 2021.

“We are very grateful to CASA for facilitating the grain rescue training and to G3 Canada for their generous donation of rescue equipment to our department,” says Rural Municipality of Morris Fire Chief Trevor Dackow. “The donation provides the Rural Municipality of Morris Fire Department with another valuable tool in our toolbox allowing us to better serve and protect our residents.”

The RM of Morris will base its grain rescue equipment in the Rosenort Fire Hall to be dispatched throughout the municipality. G3 also provided grain rescue gear in 2021 to the Rivers, Minnedosa and Arborg, Manitoba fire departments.

“G3 has been a proud supporter of CASA’s BeGrainSafe program since 2016,” says G3 CEO Don Chapman. “Keeping our staff, customers and communities safe is key to everything we do at G3 and we’re pleased to be able to enhance safety in these Manitoba communities.”

In previous years, G3 has funded the purchase of grain rescue equipment for fire departments in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

G3 is continuing its support for BeGrainSafe in 2022.
