Another Wednesday morning brought another In the Mayor's Chair, with Morris Mayor Scott Crick joining CFAM Radio 950 Morning Show Host Chris Sumner for another conversation about the latest things happening around town, which included the Mayor reflecting on the recent annual meeting of the Morris and Area Foundation.

"I look at the many organizations they help around the community, and in the area, where they provide funding, working up the access to other types of funds," he shared. "Just to see how the foundation has grown since its inception ten years ago, that they now have over $600,000 built up in capital, and they're going to continue to do that. Every gift turns into more requests that could be given to local organizations."

And with the Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition only a few weeks away, happening July 19th through 21st, Crick encouraged those planning to attend to get their tickets early considering a special attraction that's part of the event this year.

"For the first time in a number of years, the RCMP Musical Ride is returning to the Stampede, and that's always a great crowd pleaser, always brings out good crowds," he said. "An interesting note from last year, though, is a number of the rodeo sessions sold out, so I think it's important for people who want to come see the rodeo, as well attend the Musical Ride, to make sure they go online and buy their tickets now. They are available at ManitobaStampede.ca and certainly recommend grabbing them early, so they don't end up turned away at the gate."
