RCMP have released details regarding an early Sunday morning accident on Highway 3.

According to police, a semi trailer collided with the guard rail at the Deadhorse Creek bridge at Road 16 North. The 50 year-old male driver of the semi was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.

Meantime, the highway bridge was closed for a period of time Sunday while experts from several provincial agencies assessed possible damage to the structure.

According to information on the Manitoba Infrastructure website, bridge repairs are currently underway to the bridge, with one lane traffic over it. Traffic signals are set up to control traffic flow. There is a maximum vehicle width of 4 meters.
