After not running for several years, the Grow Your Roots garden tour has returned to Morden.

Reforming last fall, the Morden and District Horticulture Society wanted to bring this fundraiser tour back to engage and excite the local community while raising funds to invite various presenters to the area.

"There's a lot of great gardeners here in the Morden Region, and it's a great way to inspire people on what they can do with their yard," shares Margie Hildebrand Chair of the Grow Your Roots subcommittee. "We include artists or musicians at most of the sites, so it's a combination of art and gardening or the art of gardening."

Ten yards and two public spaces were featured in the Saturday tour, most were in Morden, but one was in Thornhill.

Hildebrand says Confederation Park has been taken on as a biweekly project by the City and Horticulture Society, and the Access Event Centre features plant life sustained from roof rainwater.

The Horticulture Society has a deep-rooted history within the community for almost a century, and Hildebrand is excited to have the group back and getting Morden into the development of local flora.
