The new Canada Food Guide will better meet the needs of Canadians.

Turnbull says about four years of research has gone into creating a food guide that includes information on what causes certain diseases and what to eat in order to prevent them.
 
She says a great feature of the new food guide is the way it breaks down what you should be eating by demographics and how active you are.
 
Turnbull adds it's much more user friendly and hopes this will motivate more people to follow it.
