Members of the Plum Coulee Fire Department had to put out a baler fire Wednesday evening.

Fire Chief Tony Fehr says fire fighters had no problem extinguishing the small blaze inside the piece of machinery. He isn't sure how the fire got started but suspects that a piece of debris from the ditch was picked up and became overheated inside baler.

The implement was unhooked from the tractor in good time, saving the tractor from also catching fire.

No one was injured in the incident.
