"The ridge of high pressure responsible for the cool conditions this week is moving out of the picture today, allowing for a gradual warm-up as we head into the first week of June," said CMOS Accredited Weathercaster Chris Sumner. "19 to 21 for highs today through Sunday, and looking like back to above average for the first half of next week. High pressure over the Prairies will keep things sunny, for the most part, and bring much warmer conditions after this week’s cool down."

Averages for the weekend are 23 for a high and 9 degrees overnight.

He added windy conditions will return today (Friday) and Saturday as the high moves off and that low moves through. Southerly gusts up to 60 km/h are in the forecast.

As for rainfall chances, Sumner pointed to Saturday and a low moving through Northern Manitoba which could kick off a shower or two. Significant precipitation is not expected from that system.
