Winnipeg Blue Bombers main camp is still on hold. Day one of camp on Sunday was cancelled after the CFL Players Association rejected the owners latest offer on a new collective bargaining agreement and called for strike action. The old agreement between the players and owners expired Saturday night. The Bombers are expected to cancel practice again today and until further notice. A number of players showed up at the Bombers’ practice field at the University of Manitoba late Sunday morning and held a walkthrough-style workout. The Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders are scheduled to kick off the pre-season one week from today in Regina.


The Manitoba Moose saw their Calder Cup playoff run come to an end Sunday at Canada Life Centre. The Moose, who staved off elimination winning games three and four, dropped a 2-1 decision to Milwaukee Sunday afternoon at Canada Life Centre. Connor Ingram stopped 27 shots including all 14 he faced in the third period as the Admirals took the best-of-five Central Division semifinal three games to two. Morgan Barron had the lone goal for Manitoba. Juuso Parssinen and Tommy Novak did the goal scoring for Milwaukee. The Admirals will face the Chicago Wolves in the division final.


The Esso Cup National U18 Female AAA Hockey Championship and the Telus Cup National U18 AAA Hockey Championship begin today in Okotoks. There are no Manitoba teams in Alberta. The Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League champion Westman Wildcats were swept in two straight by the Notre Dame Hounds in the West Regional Championship in Hartney. The host Southwest Cougars fell 4-3 to Notre Dame in the final of the West Regional in Virden. The Centennial Cup National Junior "A" Hockey Championship begins Thursday in Estevan. The Manitoba Junior Hockey League will be represented by the Turnbull Trophy champion Dauphin Kings.


The Winnipeg Goldeyes lost 9-7 to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Max Murphy, David Washington and Eric Rivera homered for the Fish who erased a 6-1 deficit thanks to a six-run fourth inning. Fargo-Moorhead responded in the top of the fifth with solo homers from Jacob Bockelie and Peter Maris to go back in front 8-7. Drew Ward’s two-out, RBI single in the top of the ninth provided the RedHawks with an insurance run. The two teams combined for 17 home runs on the weekend. The Goldeyes have Monday off and will begin a three-game series against the Sioux Falls Canaries on Tuesday at Shaw Park.
