The Winkler Flyers passed on their two Auto-Protect selections and deferred those picks to the seventh and eighth rounds of the 2023 Manitoba Junior Hockey League Draft that takes place Sunday. The Flyers have the 10th overall pick in round one of the draft. The Winnipeg Freeze have the first selection. 


The Zone 4 High School Track & Field Championships wrap up today at Garden Valley Collegiate in Winkler.  


The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added defensive end Celestin Haba, receiver Tavaris Harrison and defensive back Karon Delince the roster. Receiver Tre Turner was released. Offensive lineman Tui Eli was transferred to the one-game injured list and fullback Konner Burtenshaw was placed on the six-game injured list. The Blue Bombers practice session today is from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Winnipeg will play it's final pre-season game Friday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders at IG Field. 


The Winnipeg Goldeyes gave up four runs in the second inning and six more in the eighth and lost 14-8 to the Chicago Dogs. Max Murphy had a pair of home runs for the Fish. Winnipeg third baseman Dayson Croes doubled in the top of the sixth inning and extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
