February 23rd is Canadian Agriculture Day. To strengthen the relationship between all consumers and our local producers, Manitoba Canola Growers is embracing this celebration by inviting all Manitobans to join in a free virtual masterclass cookalong with Trevor Lui, February 21st .

Lui, whose grandfather was a ‘Wok Master’ in Hong Kong, emigrated to Canada when he was a young boy. At just seven, Lui learned how to cook in his father’s Chinese restaurant. A seasoned culinary expert, Lui developed many successful restaurants and is famous for his ramen burger.

To celebrate Lui’s Asian culture and Lunar New Year, his free virtual cook-along will feature one of his favourite family recipes from his cookbook, “Double Happiness”. Ellen Pruden, Eat Well Director from Manitoba Canola Growers joined us for a conversation about the event, and the importance of recognizing the amazing Farmers in our Province!

We've certainly made more use of our own kitchen's over the past year:

Who is Chef Trevor Lui?:

It's wonderful to be able to connect, no matter where we live:

As a tribute to Manitoba farmers, Lui featured a family recipe in his cookbook from Will Bergman who farms near Glenlea, Manitoba.

Registration is required as space is limited (ingredients, directions and link details will be sent in advance)

And knowing the giving nature of Manitobans, you may become a taste tester!
