It was an exciting two days on the outskirts of Altona this past weekend. The Legends Car Club held their 15th Annual Charity Drag Races at the Altona Municipal Airport, bringing in people from all over the Pembina Valley.

The Drag Races were held on Saturday, August 19th, and Sunday, August 20th, and brought some excitement and adrenaline to the area.

There were 60 paid entries both days, which is the max number of entries the airport could hold and had been maxed out for a few weeks already according to Don Elias.

There were also two mini Dragsters who raced against each other during the weekend, and a special feature showing off Prairie Gold, a Canola Bio Diesel Jet Car, a car that runs purely on Canola oil. It was a very impressive demonstration that left many attendees in awe.

The whole event was a fundraiser, with 50% of all profits going towards two local organizations. The charities that were being fundraised for were The Genesis House in Winkler, and the South Central Cancer Resource in Morden.

The event was a hit as always, bringing out many racers and spectators, making it a successful event once again.
