The first Canadian Under 18 Curling Championship will be held in Moncton, New Brunswick April 18th to 22nd, and both the Men's and Women's teams representing our province are from Southern Manitoba.

Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner attended the send-off celebration for Team Zacharias from the Altona Curling Club last night. Made up of Skip Mackenzie Zacharias, Third Morgan Reimer, Second Emily Zacharias and lead Paige Beaudry. The team is coached by Emily and Mackenzie's Dad, Sheldon.

This is the third time Sheldon has coached his daughter's at an elite level competition.

Chris also spoke with Third Morgan Reimer, Second Emily Zacharias and lead Paige Beaudry. Paige just joined the team in January, and was asked whether she ever thought she'd be off to Moncton a few months later.

This will be the third time Mackenzie has skipped an Under 18 team representing our province at a national or international competition... a first in Manitoba curling history.

Joining Team Zacharias will be Manitoba's men's representative, Team Walter from the Morris Curling Club consisting of Skip Brett Walter, Third Jordan Peters, Second Zachary Wasylik, Lead Liam Tod and coach Lorne Hamblin.

Good luck to both teams! We know you will make the buffalo proud!
