A familiar voice to our Sunday morning listeners returned this past weekend after being away for nearly six weeks in Edmonton. Nolan Kehler was back in studio after a second stint with the Opera Nuova Apprentice Program for singers.

Nolan recently graduated from Canadian Mennonite University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, and is using this summer as a launching pad for his next chapter... Master's Studies at the University of Victoria.

More on that later, first Nolan tells us about his experience the second time around at Opera Nuova, and the new skills he learned compared to last year.

The tenor is now getting ready for a new experience from mid-July to Mid-August... being a performer at the Halifax Summer Opera Festival in the title role of the piece Albert Herring.

And what's next for Nolan after performing on the East Coast? A return to our airwaves for the latter half of August, and then a move to the West Coast... specifically the University of Victoria where he will begin a two and a half year Master's program in opera performance.

We all have one last opportunity to enjoy Nolan on stage before he continues his busy summer. Tuesday, July 11th at 7:30 p.m. he will be performing at the Friesen Housebarn in Neubergthal. Nolan will be sharing some of his favourite pieces, and will also be joined on stage by some special guests. Admission is by donation.
