It’s considered a jewel in Manitoba’s artistic community, drawing visitors from across the province and beyond. Altona’s Gallery in the Park is open for the season, and has begun its 10th anniversary celebration by unveiling its Spring 2018 Show.

The exhibition features work by former Altona resident, and well known Manitoba artist, Steve Penner. His “Sunsets and Fire” was selected by Gallery in the Park as its official 10th anniversary celebratory piece.

Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner caught up with Steve before the unveiling of the work, and asked him to talk about the inspiration behind the acrylic, abstract painting.

Chris also asked Steve to talk about the importance of having such an amazing artistic avenue to display work in his hometown that not only showcases high profile artists, while maintaining a major focus on local talent.

The Spring 2018 Show also features selected works on loan from the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and pieces from the local group Buffalo Creek Artists.
