Getting a hole in one during a round of golf is every golfer’s dream. Although rare, holes in one happen fairly often with many courses recording at least one of two per season. Now what is rare is a single golfer shooting two holes in one, in the same round at one of Manitoba’s most well known courses.

Ken Wiebe Jr., who grew up in Altona, and has called Winnipeg home for years, had that exact experience earlier this month.

Two holes in one, it’s almost too good to be true! So we asked Ken to join us on the Morning Show Tuesday to set the stage, or in this case, the green for us.

And that was just the first hole in one Ken Wiebe Jr. had during his round last week at Glendale Golf and Country Club in Winnipeg. That’s right, his first! He shot a second hole in one in the same round on Hole 16, and he described that experience too.

So what about the balls Ken used to get those holes in one? Well, that story is a great one too, and one that didn’t leave him with very man souvenirs from the day at the course. First, we pick up the story with Ken reflecting on whether it really sunk in at the course that he had done something tremendously improbable for a recreational golfer.

Congratulations Ken! Two holes in one at Glendale Golf and Country Club Winnipeg.... Holes #3 and #16 if you’re keeping score.
