The long awaited 150th Canada Day has finally happened this past Saturday. People all over the Pembina Valley celebrated with their communities on the exciting event. While the morning was a little dreary and rainy, the weather also decided to celebrate Canada’s Birthday with some sunshine and warmth during the afternoon and evening.

In the morning, I was in Emerson to be a part of their Canada Day Celebrations. They started it off right by serving a pancake breakfast. While it was inside due to the rain, many people still enjoyed the scrumptious pancakes and sausage they served.

After breakfast, people headed over to watch the parade and to stuff their bags with candy that was being handed out. The 2017 Sunflower Queen Contestants and 2016 Royalty were seen on a float, there was a float that released 150 balloons into the sky(red and white balloons, of course),  a Jeep and Tank hybrid was seen as well, and many more cool floats.
