The Back 40 Folk Festival was celebrating 29 years on June 3rd at the Morden Bowl, and it is most definitely an event you’ll want to mark in your calendar for next year!

With so many great musicians of all ages, there was something to get everyone’s feet tapping along.

Lulu And The TomCat entertained the little ones with dance-a-longs, stories and puppets, while bands like Watermelon Slim, and the North Border Band entertained the audience with new favorites, old favorites and a few cover songs.

Also on stage during the day were Scott Nolan, Paul Bergman, Mykayla Klassen, John Wiebe, the Dirty Catfish Brass Band, Chris Freeman, Linda Hiebert, Jess Reimer and Jeremy Hamm, and Jenessa Kehler.

There was a kids tent filled with plenty of fun for the little ones including games and hula hoops, crafts, booths, and food trucks.

It was a great day to be outside with a lawn chair or a picnic blanket and some good knackzoat, and just relax and listen to great music.
