Cold Climate Water Resiliency Workshop

Saturday, Apr 13, 2019 at 9:00 AM

Harvest Moon Learning Centre, 8-10th Street, Clearwater, Manitoba

Drought and flood are two sides of the same coin, and a broken water cycle is the root cause of both. During this day-long workshop, Takota will use his 250-acre family farm as a case study for low tech, low cost, nature-based solutions that build more effective and efficient water cycles.

This workshop is process oriented, principle based and grounded in the foundations of both permaculture design and holistic management.

Topics include:
• Principles of water harvesting
• Dugout, dam and swale design and placement
• Strategic snow harvesting
• Water harvesting earthworks and aquaculture
• Gravity water reticulation and flood irrigation
• Using Google Earth Pro and accessing contour maps
• Accessing contour maps

This workshop takes place on Saturday April 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Harvest Moon Learning Centre in Clearwater, on 8-10th Street.

$75 + tax, lunch included
