The Morden Thunder will meet the Miller Aces in the Zone 4 High School Hockey League final.

Owen Domitruk faced 46 shots and stopped 45 of them as the Thunder defeated the Morris Mavericks 3-1 Saturday night in the third and deciding game of their semifinal.

Morden won back-to-back elimination games after losing the series opener.

Cameron Brunn and Derek Wiebe scored first period goals for the Thunder.

Morris captain Jordan Keck got the hometown Mavericks on the board as he scored with 9:39 left in the third period.

Zach Wood restored Morden’s two-goal lead when he beat Morris goaltender Ryan Coulombe with 5:55 remaining in regulation.

The Thunder, who won the last three Zone 4 championship banners and four of the last five, will face the Aces in Altona Monday night (7:30 p.m.) in game one of the best-of-three final.

Game two is scheduled for Thursday in Morden.
