The Pembina Tigers have joined the Miller Aces, Morris Mavericks and Morden Thunder in round two of the Zone 4 High School Hockey League playoffs after winning back-to-back elimination games.

Brett McDonald scored twice and Tanner Harms made 37 saves as Pembina defeated Northlands Parkway 3-1 Saturday in Winkler.

Kyle Sloane also scored for the Tigers who took the best-of-three quarterfinal two games to one.

Dustin Unrau had the lone goal for the Nighthawks.

Northlands Parkway goaltender Tyler Fehr faced 47 shots.

NPC won the series opener 5-4 in overtime this past Tuesday on home ice.

Pembina forced Saturdays deciding third game by beating the Nighthawks 3-1 Wednesday in Pilot Mound.

The Tigers face the Aces and the Mavericks meet the defending champion Thunder in the semifinals.

Both series begin Monday in Altona and Morris.
